This is a great large circa 1880s or 1890s "Old West" stock deputy sheriff shield badge. This badge is by gun maker Iver Johnson Company of Boston, Massachusetts. This badge puts on quite a show with its two different fonts, engraved stitch-style border and lovely decorative embellishments.
VINTAGE:Circa 1880s-1890s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-9/16" in height and 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin.
MARKINGS:Iver Johnson Co. Boston.
