This is an 1877 U.S. Army Detective, Mexico badge.
VINTAGE:Circa 1877.
SIZE:About 2-1/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel with black painted lettering.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin with a "C" catch.
MARKINGS:It looks like there is a makers mark covered by sodder.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a large collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEJJX06 L/SEJJJX5/08
CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): Minor wear and tarnishing; most of black paint in lettering has worn off.
