This is an 1876 military order medal and bar for the Centennial Legion of Historic Military Commands, Inc. The Legion is a veterans' organization that was formed on the United States' 100th birthday to promote the patriotism and military commands of the thirteen colonies. The medal shows a shield flanked by six flags and a hat on a pike and hangs from a blue ribbon with thirteen white stars. The reverse of the medal has a beautiful daisy-like design in which each colony is named in its own starred circle, which overlaps its neighbor's. The accompanying bar bears three bullion stars.
