Description
1860's Civil War era Froggatt Darby handcuffs #36 with matching key. The heavy, iron handcuffs show a maker's mark that reads: "FROGGATT WARRANTED ARO(?)GHT 36" and the key is also numbered: "36" (see photo). Near the locking hinge it reads: "BEST" and along each cuff in small, hard to photograph letters it reads: "HARL" (partial stamp). The key only seems to open one cuff, possible it is worn out - condition is very nice otherwise.
