This is a great pair of British motorcycle racing medals circa 1928-1930, both won by woman motorcyclist, Miss M.J. Collett. Included are a 2nd Place silver medal and a 3rd Place bronze medal for races on separate occasions. The silver medal has the Birmingham date mark for 1929 on reverse. The front of both medals have great racing scenes in relief. These came to us along with a rare 1920s Coventry Eagle motorcycle "wings" badge, for sale separately (please see link at bottom of page for more information).
2nd place medal: approximately 1” in diameter (not including ring); 3rd place medal: approximately 1-1/8” in height (not including ring) and 1” in width.
2nd place medal: silver; 3rd place medal: bronze.
Suspension ring on each medal.
Silver medal: R&P maker mark; three marks (anchor, lion and E, including Birmingham date mark for 1929).
This is from an early British motorcycle racing collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VFJX14 LBDEX3/14 SeCJEX12/15
