ARTIFACT: Rare WWII United States Army Air Force "Juarez" Observer wing with rarely-seen Walter Lampl hallmark. This example is from the Duncan Campbell collection, with a copy of the receipt. Lampl was a top designer in his time, he was known for his quality and creative design. He started his company in 1921 at age 26, he suffered a heart attack at a company Christmas party at age 50. During the war he designed many memorable pins and charms including the patented "Patriot Pin" from which he donated 10% of the proceeds to the Pearl Harbor Relief Fund.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII.

SIZE: 3" x 7/8".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with come under locking 'C' catch. (locking mechanism missing)

MARKINGS: STERLING and Lampl hallmark.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a collection of USAAF artifacts we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEJX08 LDIEX11/14 SDIEM12/05/19

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent-):Wing shows little surface wear, handsome even patina. As is typical with these wings, the locking catch mechanism long ago fell out of the poorly designed catch, making it more of n open C catch than a locking one.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
