ARTIFACT: This is a United States Navy "Seabees" cap from World War II named to machinist's mate 1st Class V. I. Herchen. The cap has an enameled plated sterling silver Seabees insignia.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximate size 8.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Khaki twill, leather interior hatband, silk lining and plated sterling insignia with blue enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: V.I. HERCHEN MM1C written inside cap; MA CO ROCH. NY STERLING on reverse on pin.
