ARTIFACT: This is a World War II Royal Canadian Air Force jacket patch that originally belonged to American Volunteer William Lewis Sexton. Lewis flew as a pilot in the Royal Air Force and was also a volunteer from the United States who entered service with the RCAF. The patch is a decal on twill and reads PER ARDUA AD ASTRA: Through adversity to the stars.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 5-5/8" in height and 5-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Decal on twill, cotton backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 6 (Fine+): The patch shows some areas of moderate wear and discoloration.
