This is a World War II Royal Canadian Air Force sweetheart wing. The wing is in gold-filled sterling silver and is enameled with the motto PER ARDUA AD ASTRA (Through adversity to the stars).
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 9/16" in height and 1-13/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-filled sterling silver, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:GF STERLING with hard-to-read maker mark.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The wing shows only light wear with all enamel intact and some areas of tarnish to the reverse.
