ARTIFACT: This is an Italian-made ashtray for the United States 718th Bomb Squadron, 448th Bomb Group, 15th Air Force. The ashtray is painted in beautiful tones suitable for a fresco and shows an eagle with missiles in relief. Four medallions around the edge of the ashtray alternately show the group's winged horse insignia and a star.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 1" height and 5-7/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted plaster of Paris.

ATTACHMENT: N/A.

MARKINGS: 718 BOMB SQ (H) 449 BOMB GP (H) ITALIA carved into bottom.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): Ashtray has one slight chip near bottom edge.
