Description
This is an unidentified World War II commemorative plaque for a Finnish soldier named to a Taimilln Tadilli. The plaque is a saucer-shaped and made of lightweight wood decorated with hand painted symbols. The front of the plaque reads "Isanmaan Puolesta" (for the fatherland), and a black and white photo of the deceased is shown at its center.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 6-3/4" in diameter and 3/4" in thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Painted wood, glass, photograph, paper backing and note, wire.
ATTACHMENT:Two crossed wires.
MARKINGS:B mark, TAIMILLN TADILLI with other obscured words on an inner layer of paper, and hard-to-read patent mark.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The plaque shows some light abrasions and yellowing but is otherwise in great shape.
