Description
This is a circa World War II leather "blood chit" made in the China-Burma-India theatre. It is in a multi-piece leather construction showing wonderful renditions of the United States and Chinese flags side by side, with Chinese characters written below. Blood chits were a means of communicating one's affiliation and intentions, and were worn upon flight jackets by both pilots and crew. This chit has "USM" written twice on the reverse, and may be a maker's mark of sorts.
