This is a World War I United States Army Mess Sergeant rank stripes on khaki twill, showing three chevrons with a crescent moon beneath.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Approximately 4-7/8" in height and 3-3/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool felt on twill embroidered in cotton/silk threads.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:Tag reads EMPIRE PATENT.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months LBDX6/11 SBDX8/11
CONDITION:8 (Excellent): The stripes show very little wear.
