WWI US Air Service 657th Aero Squadron Enlisted Man Tunic with Squadron Shoulder Patch

This is a World War I United States Army Air Service enlisted man tunic for the 657th Aero Squadron. The tunic has two collar insignia, and two patches with two chevron insignia, all on wool.

Circa World War I.

No tag: approximately 17" armpit to armpit and 27-1/2" from shoulder to hem.

Wool, cotton lining, plated brass collar insignia and buttons, wool patches embroidered in cotton/silk threads (one partially in bullion threads as well).

Buttons and one hook-and-eye closure at collar, single screw posts with disc backings on collar insignia.

6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The tunic has a small area of light discoloration on the upper lining and some small rips in the lining as well. There are some small scattered moth holes and the left pocket has come mostly unstitched at the bottom. Some repairs have been done to the back of the tunic.

As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
