WWI Prussian Spiked Helmet (Pickelhaube) w/ Nice Paper Label - Musketier Pelzer Inf. Reg.143

WWI Prussian spiked helmet, (Pickelhaube) with nice paper label for Musketier Pelzer 1st Ref. Regiment 1st Grf. BN Infantry Regiment 14The helmet is hardened black leather with reinforced with metal trim and a silver plate with a metal spike at the crown. The painted steel ornamental plate is silver in color and features an eagle facing the viewer's left with wings spread and reads: "MIT Ð GOTT- FUR Ð KOENIG Ð UND Ð VATERLAND" with the letters "FR" in the center of the eagle's breast.

Approximately 22" inside circumference; 7" ear to ear; 9 " back to front; 9" tall (including spike)

"MUSKETIER Ð PELZER Ð REFRU(???) DEPOT Grf. Btl. Bn. Regt. 143" "5.J.R. 1907" (on rear brim) and handwritten "E St" in pencil inside dome.

6- (Fine): Pickelhaube has rough liner with missing pieces, plate is period replacement, metal missing maker mark, and nearly all the painted details remain intact.
