ARTIFACT:
This is a great World War I era Medford, Massachusetts Constabulary Veteran Association "Past President" ribbon with an attached Special Police (Home Guard) badge. The badge is numbered 151 and is attached to the ribbon, which has bullion tassels and a celluloid bar reading "Past President".
VINTAGE:
Circa World War I.
SIZE:
Ribbon: approximately 7-1/2" in height x 2-1/4" in width; Badge: 2-1/4" in height x 2" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Plated brass, celluloid, bullion, silk.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal safety-style pin on bar, badge sewn to ribbon.
MARKINGS:
151 on front of badge.
ITEM NOTES:
This is from an old Massachusetts police and law enforcement badge collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX14 LADEX8/14 SADEX04/28/23
CONDITION:
7+ (Very Fine+): The ribbon has some minor tarnish to the bullion, one small spot of discoloration to the celluloid, one small stain on reverse; badge has some light wear only.
