ARTIFACT:

This is a circa World War I French patriotic aviation lapel pin. It is a red, white and blue "cocotte" (pot. It is very similar to some French squadron insignia, including that for the Squadron (Escadrille) BR 11.

VINTAGE:

Circa I.

SIZE:

Approximately " in height and 9/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Enameled gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Safety-style pin, saddle.

MARKINGS:

None.

7+ (Very Fine+): The pin has some light wear to the enamel.
