Description
This is a World War I Austrian water canteen dated 191It has a light army green ceramic coating and a field-modified wooden stopper connected to it by a rope cord. It also a handwritten label remnant taped to the front.
VINTAGE:Circa 1917 (World War I).
SIZE:Approximately 9-3/8" in height and 3-1/2" in width and 1-3/4" in thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Ceramic-coated metal, wood, paper, rope.
ATTACHMENT:Proabbly carried in a pack, two loops at top could have been used for a strap.
MARKINGS:LIGETFALU 1917 stamp and label reading Austrian Water B-- Secured at-- (on front); LIGETFALU 1917 on reverse.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The canteen has some small spots of wear to the ceramic coating.
