This is a 185th Overseas Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Forces officer's collar badge from World War I. The 185th was also known as the "Cape Breton (Nova Scotia) Highlanders". The badge reads SIOL NA FEAR FEARAI (breed of manly men).
Circa World War I.
Approximately 1-3/8" in height and 1-3/8" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Horizontal pin with tongue-style catch.
