This is a wonderful Aztec or Mayan mask from the pre-Columbian era (before 1492). The terra cotta mask shows the face of a male deity. The mask has decorative grooves to each side of the nose, detailed teeth, a jutting chin, and a small plate covering part of the mouth opening.
VINTAGE:Circa pre-Columbian era (before 1492).
SIZE:Approximately 5-3/4" in height and 5-3/4" in width and 4-1/4" in depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Clay terracotta pottery.
ATTACHMENT:Two holes.
MARKINGS:None.
