ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful Crimean War Era 46th (South Devonshire) Regiment of Foot Officer's uniform button that has been converted into a lapel or sweetheart pin. This button is from the 1850's, and was converted into a pin in the 1870's. The pin has an off-center lanyard around a 46, with engraved initials above for “W.R.P."

VINTAGE: Circa Crimean War

SIZE: Appr: 3/4" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with over-under catch

MARKINGS: "W.R.P 46. RANKE & CO."

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Light wear and tarnish on the obverse. Heavier tarnish on the reverse, with great patina
