ARTIFACT:
This is a wonderful Crimean War Era 46th (South Devonshire) Regiment of Foot Officer's uniform button that has been converted into a lapel or sweetheart pin. This button is from the 1850's, and was converted into a pin in the 1870's. The pin has an off-center lanyard around a 46, with engraved initials above for “W.R.P."
