This is a wonderful circa 1900 Baltimore Maryland Health Department Bureau of Child Welfare ASSISTANT Chief Badge.

Circa 1900.

Approximately 1-5/8" in height x 2-1/8" in width.

Nickel-plated nickel with hard-fired black and red enamel and painted lettering.

Horizontal pin with tongue type 'C' catch.
