ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1970s private purchase issue type pair of PG-58 pilot's sunglasses used by the United States Air Force. The glasses are by American Optical and come with their original case. The frame is gold-filled and the arms are encased in an amber-colored resin.

VINTAGE: Circa 1970s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-11/16" in lens height and 5-1/2" in width (hinge to hinge); 5-1/2" arm length.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-filled, glass, resin, vinyl with plastic lining.

ATTACHMENT: Hinging arms; snap on case.

MARKINGS: 1/10 12K GF under bridge; Original PG-58 Pilot's Sunglass by American Optical White on case.
