ARTIFACT: This is a first edition book entitled "Manual of Practical Military Engineering", authored by Captain O. H. Ernst, United States Army Corps of Engineers. Ernst was also an instructor practical of military engineering for the United States Military Academy. It was published in 1873 by D. Van Nostrand of New York. There are several illustrations inside along with two large, fold-out ones at the end.

VINTAGE: Circa 1873.

SIZE: 236 pages with black and white illustrations, plus two fold-out illustrations and a 16 page list of other books by the publisher; approximately 7-5/8" in height and 5-1/8" in width and 1" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Paper, cloth-covered.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: NEW YORK: D. VAN NOSTRAND, PUBLISHER, 23 MURRAY AND 27 WARREN STREET 1873.
