ARTIFACT: This is a very early circa 1900 celluloid advertising pin for Cat's Paw Heels, a product of the Foster Rubber Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Around since 1904, Cat's Paw was a hugely popular product with a distinctive icon forged by German graphic designer Lucian Bernhard. Once an American super-brand, was recently revived in the public memory with the discovery on the island of Nikoumaroro of a buried shoe with a Cat's Paw Heel: the shoe is believed to have belonged to Amelia Earhart. The pin is in red, yellow and black celluloid and shaped like the Cat's Paw heel itself.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/16" in width and 1" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid.

ATTACHMENT: Hole, stick pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a clothing advertising collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. RFM92 LFEX9/12 SeHJX12/15

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows only some light wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
