ARTIFACT:

This is  a Very Cool World War II era West Point, Virginia Sterling Silver Presentation Police Badge Given to the United States Navy Reserve BM1 Thomas M. Lazio, who was serving as United States Navy Shore Patrol in the area at the time. Unique. Boatswain's mate (abbreviated as BM) is a designation given by the Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS) to enlisted members.  BM1: Boatswain's mate first class: Petty officer first class

VINTAGE:

Circa WWII.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-7/8" in hight1-1/4" in length

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick type pin with forked locking catch.

MARKINGS:

"PRESENTED TO SHORE PATROLMAN T. M. LAZIO BY THE CITY OF WEST POINT. VA."  "STERLING"( stamped on top of the forked locking catch)
