Description
This is a very cool vintage 1930's Harry's New York Bar (Located in Paris, France) International Bar Flies "member" lapel pin. Harry's Bar in New York was founded in 1923 when bartender Harry MacElhone bought the New York Bar. Many famous drinks were invented there including the Bloody Mary, the Sidecar, the Monkey Gland and others. Harry's Paris Bar was a favorite haunt of Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis, Coco Chanel, Rita Hayworth and Humphrey Bogart. The pin is made to look like an ingot, or bar, with "IBF" on it as well as a fly (A literal "Bar Fly")
