ARTIFACT: The famous "Leaping Tiger" silk, Chinese made, WWII USAAF 14th Air Force patch. Reminiscent of the tiger on American Volunteer Group (AVG) patches, this patch is no doubt an early 1943 version of the patch. This example shows an embroidered tiger with tiger-striped wings 'leaping' and a white, five point star with a red circle center. The patch is embroidered on silk and was removed from a uniform.

SIZE: Approximately 2-9/16" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embroidered silk, silk/cotton/polyester thread, silk backing

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-EDK-25-16 LEGEX8/16 SEGE8/16

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows moderate wear, light soiling, was removed from uniform, overall very fine condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
