ARTIFACT: This is a stunning circa 1850s (or earlier) jeweler-made cast silver Clan Badge for an unknown Scotsman, possibly a member of the Taylor Clan, or MacDonald Sleat, who was also a member of the Order of the Bath, a military order founded in 1725. The badge shows a fist holding an upthrust Crosslet Fitchie and reads Tria Juncta in Uno (Three Joined in One) upon the encircling garter. The badge is unmarked but tests for silver. It has handsome hand-worked details and a large T-style pin.

VINTAGE: Circa 1850s or earlier.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/8" in height x 1-15/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Hand-worked silver (unmarked and tested).

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal T-style pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Scottish clan badge collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Item will not be sold until identified. MDJV13 LX4/14 SLBBGEX04/24/21

CONDITION: 9- (Excellent +): The badge has some light wear/tarnish.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
