ARTIFACT: This is a circa World War II United States Merchant Marine officer collar insignia in sterling silver. It was made by A.E. Company of Utica, New York. The insignia shows an anchor bearing a shield with a compass rose as the backdrop.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 15/16" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver and plated sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: A.E. Co. Utica N.Y. STERLING.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII United States Merchant Marine collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJX13 LDEX1/14 SDEX2/14

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The insignia has some light wear and areas of tarnish, mostly to the reverse.
