ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1940s graduation lapel wing from the Grace Downs Air Career School, a former school for aspiring stewardesses on Long Island, New York. It is rare to find a wing from this early! It was made by Balfour and is in sterling silver with a blue enameled center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1940s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in width and 5/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver enamel details.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: LGB (Balfour) STERLING.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a veterans' collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. RAJL93 LBDEX7/12

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The wing shows some light wear and tarnish.
