Spanish Military Merit Cross Cruz del MŽrito Militar (NOK or Burial Copy) Spanish Civil War

This is a Spanish Military Merit Cross with white decoration, or Cruz del Mérito Militar con distintivo blanco. This one dates from the Spanish Civil War period (1936-1939), and was recognized by both sides during this time. The Military Merit Cross (white) was awarded for distinguished behavior shown while in the service or defense of Spain. This cross is for next-of-kin or a burial copy.

Circa 1936-1939 (Spanish Civil War period).

Cross: approximately 1-5/8" by 2" (including crown); ribbon: approximately 30-1/2" in length.

Gilt brass, enamel, silk.

Suspension ring, ribbon.
