Spanish Civil War Bullion Pilot Wing for Italian Fascist Legion Pilots For Franco's Nationalists

This is a beautiful bullion pilot wing and officer rank insignia for Italian Fascist Legion pilots flying. This wing, along with the insignia, were worn only by Italian pilots flying in Spain and fighting for the Franco Nationalists during the Spanish Civil War. Mussolini sent tens of thousands of men and valuable materiel to aid Franco's side. The wing has a red center bearing some fearsome weapons; the insignia is a golden eight-pointed star.

Circa Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).

Wing: approximately 1-13/16" in height and 3-5/8" in width; insignia: about 1-3/8" in diameter.

Wing: fully embroidered in silk, cotton and bullion threads with cotton backing: insignia: twill embroidered in bullion threads.
