ARTIFACT: This is a softcover copy of "United States Women in Aviation 1919-1929", Number 5 in the Smithsonian Studies in Air and Space series. It was written by Kathleen Brooks-Pazmany and published in 1983. The book is full of great period photographs and short bios of famous female aviators such as Amelia Earhart as well as lesser-known ones like Louise Thaden, pictured on the cover. The book covers everything from stunt flying to setting world records.

VINTAGE: Published 1983.

SIZE: 57 pages; approximately 11" in height and 8-1/2" in width.
