Description

ARTIFACT:

Small United States Army Air Forces Pilot Cadet grouping with dog tags. The grouping includes three candid period black and white photos of Eckman and fellow aviators, as well as a black and white period portrait showing John Eckman in uniform displaying the USAAF insignia on his hat and a US Air Corps Pilot Cadet shoulder patch. The personal identification tags read: "JOHN ECKMAN 32341860 T43-43 A MRS J EXKMAN 37 HARRISON ST MIDDLETOWN NY C"

ID Tags: 2" x 1 1/8"; HQ Patch: 2 ½" round; Cadet Patch: 2 ¾" round; Candid Photos: 2@ 3 ½" x 2 ½", 1@4 ½" x 3 ¼"; Portrait: 3 ½" x 2 ½"

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Stainless steel, photographs, wool felt, cotton/polyester/silk embroidered thread, mesh, pen ink.

CONDITION:

8+ (Excellent - Overall): HQ patch has a few moth nips, the cadet patch is in excellent condition, the tags and photographs show minor wear, no rips or creases in photos.
