Description
This is a scarce World War II "Wartime Model" Ronson lighter with its original box, obviously carried by a GI during the war. It is especially rare that he happened to save the box with the "Wartime Model" label, as well as the care booklet, a promotional piece and a soft case for the lighter.. Ronson claimed to be the "World's Greatest Lighter".
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Lighter: approximately 2" in height and 1-5/8" in width and 1/2" in thickness; box: approximately 2-1/16" in width x 2-3/8" in height x 3/4" in depth..
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass, cardboard, paper, cotton.
ATTACHMENT:To be carried in pocket to light your smokes.
MARKINGS:RONSON NEWARK, NJ, USA. US PATENT R.E. NO. 19023, EXPIRES JUNE 12, 1952 CANADA 288148 (bottom of lighter); RONSON STANDARD 6079 WARTIME MODEL PRINTED IN USA (on box).

CONDITION:6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The lighter has some areas of wear to the chrome plating and the box is still usable but cover is split at the corners (these could be glued closed).
