ARTIFACT: This is a scarce United States Army Air Forces Survival Manual: Air Force Manual No. 21W. It was printed in June of 1944 and was issued in the C-1 Survival Vest. It looks like it may have been through a crash landing. The manual contains many helpful tips on what to eat in the wild, how to protect the body from the elements, and how to navigate, among other topics.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II (June 1944).

SIZE: Approximately 8" in height and 3-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

MARKINGS: PUBLISHED BY TRAINING AIDS DIVISION OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT CHIEF OF AIR STAFF, TRAINING HEADQUARTERS ARMY AIR FORCES ONE PARK AVENUE, NEW YORK CITY 16.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJX01 VAAEX11/12 SAAEX5/13

CONDITION: 6- (Fine): The manual has a soiled cover with small burn marks and a few torn corners; some handwriting within and on back cover.
