Description
This is a hardcover copy of "Naval Eight: A History Of No. 8 Squadron R.N.A.S." by E.G. Johnstone. The No. 8 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) became the 208 Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) when the RAF was established on April 1, 191The book has some great aircraft images, including a Sopwith Pup and Camel, as well as a Nieuport Scout, planes the 8th flew during World War I. This squadron was a high-scoring group: 298 victories! They also had twenty-five aces. The book has several appendices in the back, including a list of members killed is action. A.S. Todd has a handwritten note next to his name: "by von Richthofen" (aka the "Red Baron"). This copy has been re-bound with tape.
VINTAGE:Published post-World War I (1919?).
SIZE:207 pages including black and white photographs; approximately 8-5/8" in height and 6" in width and 1-3/16" in thickness.
