ARTIFACT:

This is a Scarce Late 1960's Piedmont Airlines 4th Issue Captain Wing. Piedmont Airlines, Inc. is an American regional airline operating for American Eagle, formerly US Airways Express. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group, headquartered in unincorporated Wicomico County, Maryland, near the city of Salisbury. In 1983, Piedmont Aviation bought Henson Airlines and re-branded the airline as "Henson, The Piedmont Regional Airline."  (Henson Pilot Wing & Hat badge, showing a related item)

VINTAGE:

Circa 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 3-1/4" in width x 15/16" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wool felt embroidered in silk and bullion thread, treated felt backing, brass clutch.

Two posts with clutch-backs.
