Description
Scarce vintage 1930s-40's Massachusetts Motor Vehicle INVESTIGATOR, Department of Public Works, Badge. The badge shows the State Seal in the center in nice raised detail, along the top it reads: "MASS. MOTOR VEHICLE INVESTIGATOR" and a scroll surrounding the State Seal reads: "DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS" and the very bottom shows the number: "46". The Motor Vehicle Inspection Dept. is now the Massachusetts Highway Patrol. MA Department of Public Works later became the MA Registry of Motor Vehicles.
VINTAGE:Vintage ca 1930's - 1940's.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/8" in height x 2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome plated brass, black paint.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with drop in locking catch.
MARKINGS:None.
