ARTIFACT:
Scarce 1980's Flying Tigers Line 5th Issue Flight Attendant Wing, Private Purchase Variation.
The center shows the company's logo, a nicely detailed tiger's head against a background of black enamel and is centered between stylized wings.
I am told by a retired Flying Tigers Line Flight Attendant that these wings were of a type that the Flight Attendants purchased in Korea to wear on their service aprons, keeping their Issue Wing on their dress Jacket.
The airline was started in Los Angeles, California by ten former American Volunteer Group (AVG Flying Tigers) members in 1947, and it operated until 1989, when it was purchased and absorbed by FedEx.
