Description

ARTIFACT:

Scarce 1930's United States Army 106th Cavalry Regiment Troop D Enlisted Man collar insignia. The round insignia features crossed swords in the center with the number: "106" above and the letter: "D" below in raised detail. Prior to becoming a regiment during WWII, the 106th was formed as part of the Illinois National Guard during the Spanish-American War in the 1920's when it was known as the 1st Illinois Volunteer Cavalry.

Approximately 1" in diameter

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with stabilizers and disc backing
