ARTIFACT: Nice, salty WWI German Veterans Field of Honor Badge from Hamburg, Germany, this example was produced in the 1920's. The award was presented to all Imperial German military who fought in World War I. The center of the badge features an oval with a nicely detailed soldier dressed for battle, swords are crossed behind the oval and surrounding it is a sunburst-like shape with a white enameled cross in the center. The reverse of the badge reads "DEUTSCHES FELD-EHREN-ZEICHEN E.O. HAMBURG 11"

VINTAGE: Circa WWI - 1920's

SIZE: Approximately 2 1/2" x 2 1/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Two piece construction, silvered, gilt, enameled brass

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal 'T' pin with 'C' catch

MARKINGS: "DEUTSCHES FELD-EHREN-ZEICHEN E.O. HAMBURG 11", "GES. GESCH.".

ITEM NOTES: This is from an Imperial German militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. 1st: CON-DMM-25-15 LADEX6/15 SLACJX11/15 SLABJX1/16 RET10/16 2nd: PAJM18 LABEX11/18

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The medal shows minor to moderate wear, pieces of enamel missing, would grade condition higher if not for the damaged enamel.
