ARTIFACT:
Rare, WWII Circa 1944 South African Air Force No. 31 Squadron Badge, a heavy bomber squadron based in the Mediterranean. The badge is in exceptional condition depicting an owl flying among searchlights and two dice reading '3' and '1', with deep blue and white enameling detail. This squadron flew B-24 Liberators over Crete, Ploesti and Warsaw and helped transport POWs from Italy back to Britain.

Circa WWII 1944
SIZE:
Approximately 15/16" round, 1" at widest point of owl wing.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Silver plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical kick pin with "C" clasp.
