ARTIFACT:
This is a lovely example of the Eisenstadt made Dallas Type USAS Junior Military Aviator / Pilot wing from WWI. Though a bit more crude than the refined Dallas wing made by Bailey Banks, & Biddle, it is still a beautiful wing, welcome in any WWI aviation collection.
I prize the example in my collection that is a biographical wing (with photo documentation) in the grouping of Arthur Raymond Knight of Newburyport, MA. Look him up in New England Aviators: he flew 104 bombing missions with the French! His grouping will be added to the WWI Aviation Museum section of the site eventually. If only there were more hours in the day!
VINTAGE:
Circa World War I.
SIZE:
Approximately 1" in height x 3-11/16" in length.

Sterling silver, 14 karat gold, woven wool, and brass.

None.
ITEM NOTES:
This wing came out of a very old Massachusetts collection, put together by a collector who only scavenged the local shops and flea markets. He is long deceased and this wing was purchased along with others from his son. This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months.
