ARTIFACT: This is a rare World War I submarine "Welcome Home" celluloid badge by Whitehead & Hoag. The badge pictures a sub coming into its home port of New London, Connecticut.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid-wrapped tin, paper backing.

ATTACHMENT: Straight pin.

MARKINGS: WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. BUTTONS, BADGES, NOVELTIES AND SIGNS NEWARK, N.J. with union mark.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJL95 LAAEX7/11

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has slight wear and fading with light tarnish around the reverse edge.
