ARTIFACT: Rare WWI Imperial German Luftschiffer Bataillion 3 (LsBtl) Enlisted Man shoulder board. The Luftschiffer or Airship Bataillion was based in Koln (Cologne) and was instrumental in Germany's air offensive - Zeppelins and Airships could reach altitudes out of the range of most aircraft and in doing so were able to travel to London and other areas in Europe with minimal exposure to combat. The shoulder board is light gray wool felt with exquisite red piping.

VINTAGE: Circa WWI

SIZE: Approximately 4-5/8" x 2-1/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt, cotton piping

ATTACHMENT: Button hole

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an Imperial German militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VABEX12 LEGEX4/16

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The shoulder board shows minor wear, beautiful piping, and overall excellent condition.
