ARTIFACT:
This is a rare Canadian Corps of the Guides collar insignia from World War I. The Corps was a cavalry group with largely administrative and reconnaissance duties. The Corps' motto is on the pin VIRTUTE ET LABORE (Labour and Virtue), along with a spear and a mace.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War I.
SIZE:
1-3/8" height and 1-1/8" width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Two loops with cotter pin.
