ARTIFACT:
This is a wonderful, rare and huge silver plate gravy boat from Adolf Hitler's Reichskanzlei (Reich Chancellery). The gravy boat was made by the Wellner firm, and is maker marked on the bottom of the oval saucer. One side face of the boat bears an engraved Nazi Party eagle with wreathed swastika, along with the initials "RK" for Reich Kanzlei. The gravy boat is in a one-piece construction, with an attached oval saucer. The boat body has a wide pouring spout and a large, slender handle at the opposite end. The gravy boat is currently unpolished and is in wonderful condition (see Condition Section below). Used solely by the Reichskanzlei, or the Office of the German Chancellor, this piece has the less common "RK" monogram. Service pieces used in other of the Fuhrer's departments bore the less rare monogram "AH" (for Adolf Hitler).

Circa World War II.
SIZE:
Approximately 10-1/2" in length and 6-3/4" in width (saucer) and 6-3/4" in height (to top of handle).
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Silver plate upon solid nickel.
ATTACHMENT:
One piece, with handle.
MARKINGS:
Wellner mark, 40 cl. 30 (in circle).

CONDITION:
8 (Excellent-): The gravy boat is in excellent only a slight bend to the edge that could easily be straightened by a jeweler. Unpolished currently.
