ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa late 1940s or early 1950s hat badge for Aer Lingus, Ireland's national airline since 1936. The badge is a wreathed shamrock embroidered in silk and gold bullion thread.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1940s-early 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/16" x 2-5/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt with bullion and cotton/silk embroidery, cloth backing, plastic clip.

ATTACHMENT: Clip.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge has some light to medium wear and tarnish; one end of clip has become unstitched.
